As we all know the window 10 may be tHE MOST AMAZING operating system Microsoft has ever created. It does include many handy features that are quite useful, so coming up I will show you 30 tips & tricks of window 10 in 2020( you should know). This article includes some of the newest features and some of the oldest classic features. so let’s start:-
1) AERO SHAKE

This cool trick is an old classic that’s been around window 7 and it still works today with window 10. If your screen is getting cluttered with open windows you could just minimize each window individually but instead, I will show you a faster way:-
- Left-click on the title bar of the program you are working with and with the left mouse button held down shake your mouse from left to right and you see that all windows minimize.
- IF YOU WANT TO THAT OTHER WINDOWS BACK UP JUST SHAKE YOUR MOUSE AGAIN
2)OLD SCHOOL START MENU
If you are not a fan of the new start menu with the live tiles so there is an alternative start menu that might be more useful for use.
AS most of you know if you go to the window’s icon on the lower left and left click will bring up the title written start menu.



On that same windows icon, a right-click instead will bring up a menu -with shortcuts to apps and features.
INCLUDES:- POWER OPTIONS, WINDOWS POWERSHELL AND A WHOLE LOT MORE AS SHOWN IN FIGURE.
3) TASKBAR CALENDAR EVENT



It is the newer feature that has been added is the ability to create a new calendar event from the taskbar without having to open the calendar app in the lower right. JUST select the date and time.
THEN, pick the date of your event give it a name, and select the time.
Click on the checkmark enter the location and when you are done click on save.
4) SNIP AND SKETCH



It is the built-in screenshot tools for windows have always been inadequate when compared to third-party software. snip and sketch is the best screen capture tool ever to be included in any Microsoft os to activate it press the window KEY+ SHIFT+ S.
YOU can choose any of RECTANGULAR full screen AND FREEFORM WINDOW. I will go with rectangular when you left-click drag an area and let go to the selected region will be saved to your clipboard. also at the top of the page, you will have tools to mark up your image.
5) BACKGROUNDS APP



Programs that are run in the background can offer many beneficial features like the ability to show you notifications.
They can also waste bandwidth use up system resources and drain your laptop battery. To turn them off go to settings for new users click the windows icon in the lower left and select the settings icon.
Go to the privacy and at bottom you will see background apps just click it.
If you toggle this top switch to off it’ll stop old apps from running in the background.
5) FOCUS ASSIST



WHEN working on the task notifications can be a huge distraction to gain more control over these notifications in the settings app go to system and in the left pane select focus assist.
YOU have three choices leaving it 1)off you will get all notifications from your apps and contacts. 2) priority only will only show you selected notifications from the priority list but you can customize by selecting the link and 3) alarm only will hide old notifications except for alarms. You can also choose the times and activities you have focused assist turn on automatically.
6) EMOJI MENU



AT any time you need to bring out the menu of emojis press the windows key and period key on your keyboard. In addition, there are tabs to access key and emoji characters and a good selection of symbols.
7) CLOUD CLIPBOARD



The windows clipboard now lets you copy and paste across multiple devices with their cloud clipboard to enable it, go to settings and click on the system in the left pane select clipboard turn on clipboard history and enable sync across devices to copy from one pc to paste on another. Pressing the Windows key+ V WILL bring up the cloud clipboard.
8) NEARBY SHARING



If you are familiar with apple’s airdrop Microsoft has a similar feature called nearby sharing that will let you share content with another window 10 PC’s connected to your network or Bluetooth.
TO enable it 1) go to the system then shared experiences and toggle the switch on for nearby sharing, now when you select to share Microsoft word and many other programs including photos after doing that you see some nearby computers.
9) Dark/light Mode



This mode is the default color with windows 10 changing to a dark mode is the first thing I do after a fresh install.
- Go to personalization and on the left select colors you have three choices 1)light
- dark
- custom
When you select custom lets you set defaults for windows and apps separately.
10) CHANGE AUDIO OUTPUT



It is used if you wanted to change the audio output on your computer. Just Go to the control panel or the settings app to make the change.
They’ve made the process faster, To make a switch go to the system tray in the taskbar and left-click the speaker icon above the volume control select the audio device name and you will see a full list of your audio output devices making it quicker and easier to make the switch.
11) Switch to” this pc” view



CLICK THE VIEW TAB AT THE TOP then on the ribbon click on options in the general tab in open file explorer choose “this pc” then click on OK. Now when you open file explorer you will get the “this pc” layout.
